Rachel has been playing volleyball since she was able to walk. Both of her parents played when she was little and her mother coaches still to this day. So, Rachel was always around the sport. She loves the game of volleyball.
Rachel played volleyball and softball at Freeport High School. She was a four year Varsity starter and Letterman for softball. For volleyball she was a three year Letterman. Her senior year of high school, they won the WPIAL AA title. This was the first year that Freeport has won the WPIAL AA title. She received the Best Blocker and Team Spirit award from her teammates. She also was a part of the WPIAL AA 1st team. Rachel graduated from Freeport in 2011.
During her high school and college careers, Rachel has helped coach her younger sister's softball team. She was also a volleyball camp counselor at Saint Francis University for three years. This is where she found her coaching interest.
Rachel went on to Penn State Beaver and played a year of volleyball there. She then transferred to Indiana University of Pennsylvania to focus on her degree. She received her degree in Child Development and Family Relations. She graduated in December 2016.
Rachel is currently working as a Toddler Two teacher at Lifesteps in Butler. She loves working with young children. She is ready to get back into coaching and watching other players further their skills. Rachel is very excited to be a part of the Westmoreland Elite Volleyball Family!
