Jana has been involved in the sport of volleyball for 30+ years as a player and a coach. Jana has been a part of Westmoreland Elite throughout the last 10 years. She coached for West E in 2007 2008 seasons for the 16’s team. She was also the head coach of the Gateway High School Girls Volleyball team in 2007 and 2008. Jana’s children kept her busy participating in various sports and she rejoined West E’s coaching staff in 2015. Jana was an Assistant Coach for 16black. The following season she was Head Coach for the 16 White team and Assistant Coach to the 17 Black team. Both of Jana’s daughters are alumni of the West E program. Her daughter Jazlyn is currently playing college volleyball at Point Park University. 

As a player Jana played High School Volleyball at Mt. Lebanon High School, she played Club Volleyball for Pitt Elite, and she was a scholarship player at Point Park University from 1994-1997. Jana was team captain for two seasons. She was the conference Freshman of the Year in 1994, she was a first team All Section selection 3 seasons. She was an All Region team selection her final two seasons and she received Conference Player of the Year honors in 1997. Jana was the first Women’s Volleyball Player to be inducted to the Point Park Athletics Hall of Fame in 2008. She is one of four players to have over 1000 career kills. Jana continues to stay active with Point Park and has been a member of the Hall of Fame induction committee for the past four years. 

Jana resides in Monroeville with her daughters Jazlyn and Kamryn.
